Zachary David Alexander "Zack" Efron (born October 18, 1987) is an American actor, singer, and dancer. He began acting professionally in the early 2000s, and became known to young audiences after his roles in the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical, the WB series Summer land, and the 2007 film version of the Broadway musical Hairspray. In 2007, before the release of High School Musical 2, Rolling Stone declared him the "poster boy for teenyboppers" and featured him in their late August 2007 issue. Efron has since starred in the films 17 Again, Me and Orson Welles, and Charlie St. Cloud.

Personal life

Efron owns an apartment in Los Angel's, California. On January 15, 2008, Efron was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angel es for an emergency appendectomy^. Efron was also on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list in 2008, as number 92 with an estimated earning of $5.8 million from June 2007 to June 2008. As of April 5, 2009, his personal wealth equaled about $10 million.Vanessa Hudgens confirmed in an October 2007 interview with Teen that she and Efron began dating in 2005 during the filming of High School Musical.
In a 2010 interview reportedly given to LOOK Magazine, Efron said that as a teenager he was obsessed with Tyre Banks. "When I was younger I used to lie on my bed and look up at a poster of Myra Banks on my ceiling. She was in the Victoria's Secret catalogs that my mom used to get and I thought she was the most gorgeous thing in the world."
